State Rep. Bob Freeman, D-Northampton, was sworn in today at the state Capitol to begin his 18th two-year term representing the 136th Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. The swearing in marks the 205th session of the General Assembly.
Freeman serves as Democratic chairman of the House Local Government Committee.
Freeman is the longest-serving member in the current Lehigh Valley delegation. He first served from 1982 to 1994 and was re-elected in 1998 and has served since. Freeman will be second in seniority in the entire House of Representatives in the new session.
“It’s an honor to continue to be able to serve the needs and interests of the people in my district,” Freeman said. “With my many years of legislative experience and enhanced seniority, I look forward to bringing the concerns of Lehigh Valley residents to the forefront while working in Harrisburg.”
Freeman’s district includes the city of Easton, parts of the townships of Lower Saucon, Palmer and all of Williams, and the boroughs of Freemansburg, Glendon, Hellertown, West Easton and Wilson.
