Rep. Mary Isaacson June 26, 2023 | 7:47 PM
Legislation to guarantee that credits obtained at Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education community colleges transfer toward a similar program at a four-year college or university passed the Pennsylvania House of Representatives today, announced one of the bill’s authors, state Rep. Mary Isaacson, D-Phila.
“Community college is an affordable path to a great future,” Isaacson said. “We need to embrace community college students by ensuring that they have every opportunity to transfer to a four-year college or university with ease.”
Isaacson praised her co-prime sponsor, state Rep. Emily Kinkead, D-Allegheny, on helping draft and advance this legislation.
The House passed H.B. 897 unanimously, and the bill now heads to the Senate for consideration.
