Pashinski helps mark major investment in local metal workers facility and workforce development

HARRISBURG, Sept. 12 – State Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski attended the SMART Sheet Metal Workers Local 44 in Luzerne County alongside Gov. Josh Shapiro this week as he highlighted how investments in workforce development are helping Pennsylvanians succeed.

Local 44 is currently upgrading its training center to provide state-of-the-art technology and training for apprentices in high-need fields such as HVAC, metal roofing, kitchen exhaust hoods and air balancing.

“My fellow colleagues and I were proud to welcome the governor along with his administration and members of the Local 44 Metal Workers Union to speak about this great investment in our workers here in Luzerne County,” Pashinski said. “This investment continuously supports those in Luzerne County, allowing them to choose their own path in the workforce and find success in that workforce.”

This funding comes from the 2024-25 bipartisan budget, which invests in all paths to success, from vo-tech and apprenticeship programs to continuing education.
