Pielli announces $500,000 in RACP grants for Natural Lands’ Stroud Preserve

WEST CHESTER, Nov. 1 – State Rep. Chris Pielli, D-Chester, is proud to announce that $500,000 has been awarded to Natural Lands’ Stroud Preserve in East Bradford Township.

Natural Lands will use the funds to offset the expenses associated with the construction work required to complete the Stroud Preserve project. This will include efforts such as demolition, site preparation, bridge construction, paving, flood mitigation, construction of the new bathroom facility, etc.

“Preserving the natural beauty of West Chester is critical,” Pielli said. “I am extremely grateful that through the advocacy of Sen. Comitta and myself, state funds have come through to make this important project financially feasible, so that all who live in and travel to East Bradford Township can experience this great natural beauty here in the 156th Legislative District.”

The funds came from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, a Pennsylvania grant program for the design, acquisition, and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. RACP projects have a regional impact and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues, or other measures of economic activity. RACP projects are state-funded projects that cannot obtain primary funding under other state programs.
