SCRANTON, May 15 – Rep. Emily Kinkead (D-Allegheny) hosted a House Majority Policy Committee tour and roundtable discussion at AHN Suburban in Pittsburgh, a former hospital now used for hands-on learning, health care services, and a home for budding businesses. Kinkead’s roundtable and tour illustrated why agriculture matters to everyone. Testifiers detailed food insecurity that happens across the state, in rural areas and cities Several testifiers explained how important state funding has been to address food insecurity and the need to preserve prime farmland.
