Shusterman & Howard to host Pet Resource Fair

PAOLI, Sept. 13 – State Reps. Melissa Shusterman and Kristine Howard, D-Chester, are hosting a Pet Resource Fair & Vaccine Clinic for residents of the 157th and 167th Legislative Districts from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Penn State Great Valley campus.

Attendees can learn about dog license registration, grooming and health tips, and meet adoptable dogs and cats looking for a home. Other services available include:

  • Over 15 different vendors with resources for horses, dogs, cats, and more!
  • On-site, low-cost vaccine and microchip clinics.
  • A fully equipped mobile vet practice.
  • Local K9 heroes from the Chester County Emergency Response Team.
  • Decompressing with therapy dogs.
  • Meet a fully trained service dog and its handler.
  • Government resources: Chester County dog licenses, PA Department of Agriculture, Chester County Dog Warden Maureen Siddons.
  • Other unique resources for your pet! (grooming, finding care when experiencing financial hardship, experts on finding lost pets, etc.)

“This is the first time Rep. Howard and I have organized an event like this for our districts,” Shusterman said. “We are excited to offer animal lovers a wide range of resources to help them care for their pets. This event will help reduce costs for pet owners, and hopefully, some furry friends will find their forever homes!”

“As a dog and cat owner and lifelong animal advocate, I am very happy to help others find new pets and care for the ones they already love,” Howard said. “Animals are often a child’s first friend, and they provide us with so much support and kindness throughout our lives, and I am thrilled to foster this connection.”

Those interested in the low-cost vaccine clinic and/or microchip clinic are asked to pre-register through the link here. Select the "Vaccine Clinic Appointment" option, then navigate to Sept. 21 and opt for an appointment slot at Penn State Great Valley.

The event is being held rain or shine. If the weather does not look promising, the event will move indoors.
