Smith-Wade-El to host free child car seat clinic Sept. 21

LANCASTER, Sept. 10 – State Rep. Ismail Smith-Wade-El, D-Lancaster, will host a free child car seat clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Lancaster Township Volunteer Fire Department, 1275 Millersville Pike, in Lancaster.

In addition to child car seat checks for the public, free car seats will be provided to registered families that participate in an income-eligible program (i.e., CAP, WIC, Medicaid, etc.). 

To receive a free car seat, attendees will need to fill out an application ahead of time from www.LGHealth.org/SafeKids and have it signed and submitted by a representative of a health care agency, social service agency or other income-eligible program. 

Smith-Wade-El has partnered with the following community organizations and programs to host the car seat clinic:

  • Lancaster Township Volunteer Fire Department
  • YWCA Lancaster
  • Lead-Free Families
  • Lead-Free Lancaster - City of Lancaster
  • Be Smart for Kids
  • CHIP
