$1 million RACP grant secured for Ardmore Avenue Community Center upgrades

HARRISBURG, Nov. 1 – State Rep. Tim Briggs, D-Montgomery, announced that the Ardmore Avenue Community Center’s PALM Senior Center Replacement Project has received $1 million in state funding from Pennsylvania’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.

"This investment in the Ardmore Avenue Community Center builds a space where seniors, families and young people can connect and thrive," Briggs said. "Projects like this support healthy communities and bring real value to our daily lives."

This grant will help offset township funds and drive forward the construction of a modern community center that will serve residents of all ages.

The new Ardmore Avenue Community Center will be a state-of-the-art facility with expanded square footage to accommodate diverse programming and community activities. Key features include a full-size gymnasium, flexible spaces for various programming needs and additional community gathering areas. The reimagined outdoor space surrounding the center will feature onsite parking and user-friendly hard courts for basketball, tennis, pickleball and volleyball, along with an accessible playground and picnic area next to the community swimming pool.

“Through RACP, Pennsylvania is investing in projects that create lasting regional impact, boost economic growth and improve civic spaces,” Briggs added. “RACP funding supports transformative projects like the Ardmore Community Center that stimulate local economies by generating jobs, enhancing public services and encouraging community engagement.”
