In alignment with his belief that investment in communities offers hope and opportunity to North Philadelphia, state Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta announced today that he secured more than $1.5 million in state funding for his legislative district.

“This funding is vital to ensure the vitality of our communities,” Kenyatta said. “From tackling food insecurity, enhancing safety measures at institutions of higher education to providing a safe and healthy space for a creative outlet, I’m fighting to let North Philadelphia thrive and foster a sense of community throughout.”

The organizations awarded funding are:

Community College of Philadelphia Foundation

Weapons Detection System

Performance Garage

Providing for a space for dance businesses and other practices
