Kenyatta secures more than $9 million in state funding for district

State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta today announced that $9,050,000 in state funding was awarded to five organizations in his legislative district.

“Funding these projects ensures that we are investing in the health, safety and overall wellbeing of our communities,” Kenyatta said. “From providing our youth with safe spaces where they can flourish, removing barriers to dental care and investing in educational facilities, this funding is one more step in uplifting our community and I’m always proud to work for the people of North Philadelphia.”

The organizations awarded include:

  • 545 North Broad Dental Clinic - $800,000
  • Al Aqsa School Expansion - $5,000,000
  • Court at 1800 - $500,000
  • Temple U 1700 N. Broad Street Revitalization - $1,750,000
  • YouthBuild Philadelphia II - $1,000,000

The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program is a Pennsylvania grant program for the design, acquisition, and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects. RACP projects have a regional impact and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues or other measures of economic activity.  RACP projects are state-funded projects that cannot obtain primary funding under other state programs.
