HARRISBURG, Nov. 1 – State Rep. Tarah Probst is pleased to announce $2 million in state grants for projects at East Stroudsburg University and Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono.
“These are important developments at ESU and LVH and I am glad to have played a part in helping them to acquire the necessary state funding to make them a reality,” said Probst, D-Monroe/Pike.
East Stroudsburg University Foundation: $1 million
The project will renovate the pool and resurface the indoor track and outdoor track to address safety concerns in each location.
Lehigh Valley Health Network Inc.: $1 million
LVH-Pocono will relocate the postpartum maternity beds to the hospital's 4th floor (currently vacant) and move the labor and delivery rooms into the existing postpartum unit. All space will be utilized, the current 3rd floor labor and delivery room will be used as triage and prenatal testing rooms.
The funds were acquired through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, a state grant program for the design, acquisition, and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. RACP projects have a regional impact and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues, or other measures of economic activity. RACP projects are state-funded projects that cannot obtain primary funding under other state programs.
