Pashinski presents $157,000 grant to Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE, Oct. 28 – State Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski, alongside his colleague state Sen. Marty Flynn and Wilkes-Barre Mayor George Brown, presented the city of Wilkes-Barre with a $157,000 Local Share Account grant.

"This grant that was awarded for Wilkes-Barre is a true investment in our community," said Pashinski. "A bucket truck was purchased for the city to use providing the utility needed moving forward."

"Ensuring our public works teams have the right tools is crucial for maintaining the safety, functionality, and beauty of Wilkes-Barre," said Flynn. "This new bucket truck will enhance the city's ability to respond promptly to essential maintenance tasks, from repairing traffic lights to trimming trees, all of which directly impact the quality of life for residents. I'm grateful to play a part in securing this investment for our community."

Of the new bucket truck, Brown said, "I am very thankful for Senator Flynn’s and Representative Pashinski's continued commitment to ensuring that Wilkes-Barre City is allocated state funding to purchase and replace equipment essential to the operations of the city."

The grant was awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority through its Local Share Account program. LSA funding is generated from casinos located in host or contiguous counties and distributed by the Department of Community and Economic Development. The grants are designed to help economic development, job training, community improvement and public interest projects
