HARRISBURG, Dec. 20 – State Rep.-elect Tarah Probst is overwhelmed to see a $1.18 million state grant awarded recently to the Stroud Area Regional Police Department.
“As a member of the Stroud Area Regional Police Department Commission for the past seven years during my time as mayor of Stroudsburg, I can attest to the dedication and important work that each of the officers performs to keep people safe on the streets and in their homes,” Probst said. “I have gotten to know all of them personally, and it is gratifying to see their efforts recognized by being provided with such a substantial grant award.”
“An investment like this one plays an important role in reducing area crime. As my term in Harrisburg gets underway, I will pursue additional funding opportunities to keep our communities safe and secure.”
Probst said that the money will allow the department to purchase a data center/server, desktop computers, mobile data terminals, in-car cameras and printers, laptops, body-worn cameras, street cameras, drone and associated software, and more.
The grant was approved by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency as part of a new Local Law Enforcement Support Grant Program that became law in July.
