Pisciottano announces nearly $114,000 for Baldwin-Whitehall School District

State funding secured for school repairs

BALDWIN, Sept. 9 – State Rep. Nick Pisciottano today announced Baldwin-Whitehall School District has been awarded a state grant of $113,527 to improve facility infrastructure within the district.

“Our kids deserve schools that are free of environmental hazards,” said Pisciottano, D-Allegheny. “I’m proud to have played a role in securing this investment to help Baldwin-Whitehall create a safer learning environment for all of its students.”

Pisciottano said the funds can be used to repair and replace air conditioners and heaters, remove asbestos and lead pipes, fix roofs, and address other environmental hazards.

The grant is sourced from the state Department of Education’s Environmental Repairs Grant Program and is part of $75 million awarded to 109 schools across the Commonwealth in this round of funding.
