Schweyer sworn in to serve Allentown, Emmaus, Salisbury Township

HARRISBURG, Jan. 3 – State Rep. Peter Schweyer took the oath of office in the state Capitol today to serve the new 134th Legislative District in Lehigh County. Today’s ceremony marked the beginning of the 2023-24 session of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and Schweyer’s fifth term as legislator. “The new year and the new legislative session mean a fresh start to overcome our challenges and focus on the issues important to the people of Pennsylvania,” said Schweyer, D-Lehigh. “I will focus on the basics, like creating family-sustaining jobs, ensuring access to health care, and fighting to keep our neighborhoods safe. And, as always, my top priority is ensuring that the students of the Allentown, East Penn and Salisbury school districts have the resources they need to succeed. “I am looking forward to working with Governor-Elect Shapiro, Lt. Schweyer’s office hosting veterans outreach Dec. 16

ALLENTOWN, Dec. 5 – Area veterans, who may not be aware of the services or benefits available to them or their families, are encouraged to participate in state Rep. Peter Schweyer’s monthly support program at his district office in Allentown. “The men and women who protect our freedom selflessly give so much, and this is a great way to give back to them for their service,” said Schweyer, D-Lehigh. “Our veterans deserve every benefit entitled to them, and my office is pleased to offer this outreach every month.” A representative from the American Legion will be available for in-person appointments from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16 at Schweyer’s district office, 1501 Lehigh St., Suite 206.
